If you have an unwanted automobile crowding up your property, you may already know that it is possible to sell it for quick cash. However, you may be hesitant to do so, as it may be more hassle than it is worth. This isn’t the case at all, however. It is incredibly easy, as there are only 5 things you will need to do:

Empty the Car Out Completely

This only refers to the vehicle’s interior. You don’t have to empty the body of the car of all its inner components. Just clean out the inside of the vehicle if there is any rubbish or personal belongings. It is important to do this to minimise the work the auto-recyclers need to do, and you are making sure that there are no personal effects left inside. It would be a shame if it turned out the piece of jewellery you lost was actually down the back of a seat. You may not see it again if you send the car off to get recycled.

Gather Ownership Documents

You will need those ownership documents. Some companies will buy your car if you don’t have them, but they won’t pay you as much. Others simply won’t accept your vehicle. Besides, how are you going to transfer the ownership or cancel the registration, if you can’t provide proper evidence that you own it in the first place? This is of the upmost importance.

Contact the Salvage Wrecking and Recycling Yard

Car Wreckers are where the auto recycling process begins. These are the people who are going to be buying that vehicle that no longer runs off you. Contact them over the phone or online. They will probably have a website with a quote request form prominently displayed. You will need to give them the age, condition, make and model of the vehicle. This will get you a free quote. You can shop around and get a few quotes to ensure that you get the best deal.

Take the Licence Plates Off

This is for you to use later on with the replacement car that you eventually buy. You can also return them to the registry if you so desire. Whatever floats your boat.

Finally, Get Ready To Sell Your Car

Auto Recyclers will tell you how much do you get for scrapping a car. Once you have accepted a deal offered to you by a scrap car yards, they will want to arrange a time to get the car off you. After paying you, of course. Many companies will pay you on the spot when they come over. After that they will remove the car themselves free of charge, as long as you have chosen a company that provides that particular service.

Once they get the vehicle back to their yard, the whole car will be recycled. Fluids such as engine oil, brake fluid and coolant will be drained before-hand for environmental reasons. Then the vehicle will be dismantled, components that are still in good condition being added to a used parts inventory for future sale.

So, if you have a car that is of no use, sell it to your local auto wreckers today.
